To those chaps raising psychic-type Pokemon, I have a bit of a question for you. Is it possible to teach them how to play things like chess or cards?

[Although, now he looks like he'd rather take something back.]

Actually, you know what? Never mind the cards. I'd really not have to deal with them having a gambling addiction or accusing the other of cheating via telepathy or whatever.

[Gambling Anonymous for Pokemon...yeah, no, that doesn't need to happen.]

I'm also curious to know something. What's the significance of being 16? I've heard that it's something of a special occasion by a friend, but I can't say I follow the reasoning behind a "sweet sixteen."

I'm sorry to hear that. After something like that, I can't really blame you for not being in the mood to celebrate. But, were you two really the only ones there? I mean, I guess someone had to come by and drop off supplies, or stuff like that, but that's not really the same...

Oh, it's quite alright. It's more like I never really knew about the milestones people celebrate.

[He nods.]

Yes, the two of us were the only humans that lived on the island. It was in the middle of nowhere in the Pacific Ocean. I never asked her why she chose that particular island. I had friends, of course, but they lived in other parts of the world and we could only really talk by using the internet. Still, they gave me a reason to celebrate in my own way during those holidays, and I had birthdays to look forward to.

Well, I'm glad that your friends were able to help out, at least. Though, I've got to admit, I never really thought about making friends over the internet like that. Then again, it's not that much different than using the Gears, is it?

It is pretty similar! In a way, I'm glad I was dragged here to Johto. I got to meet a host of people from different worlds and make new friends this way!
