To those chaps raising psychic-type Pokemon, I have a bit of a question for you. Is it possible to teach them how to play things like chess or cards?

Actually, you know what? Never mind the cards. I'd really not have to deal with them having a gambling addiction or accusing the other of cheating via telepathy or whatever.

I'm also curious to know something. What's the significance of being 16? I've heard that it's something of a special occasion by a friend, but I can't say I follow the reasoning behind a "sweet sixteen."

I would not doubt a Pokebeast's ability to successfully engage in such foolishness, though I would not underestimate the potential for underhandedness by a psychic in such endeavors.

...and I am not aware of any particular significance attached to the age of sixteen, other than a point at which old age is rather rapidly approaching. ...Admittedly perhaps less so for humans.

Oh, right. You lived on the island like Jade did, didn't you? Aside from being the exact middle of your teen years, it's also when you can learn to drive. If there's something else to it that makes it more significant beyond that, I am not sure what it is. Eighteen is kind of a bigger deal than sixteen.

It's probably the largest city I've seen in this entire region; even larger than Goldenrod was! I'm really wanting to check out Celadon city as well, which is only a few days travel to the east.. I hear it has an enormous department store!

It is quite strange, I'll give you that. It still stands that I'll work to see about kicking his butt in a Pokemon match.

Not necessarily. I assume that he has a few that were dual typed with a ghost. For example, you could probably trump his Chandelure better with a water type, in case it has that Flame Body ability. I'm not exactly familiar with what he's already got, and I doubt he'll offer up that information.

[He learned the hard way that burns induced by Flame Body suck.]

Psychich attacks don't trigger Flame Body, last I remember.

Yes, but then you've got the type disadvantage. Ghost type moves work better against psychics, don't they? I didn't think pure ghost was at a disadvantage against psychic.

They're at a disadvantage with each other. In the end, it will come down to who attacks first and which attacks are the most powerful.

Arm yourself with a dark type. Scrafty is fighting and dark. Sneasel has ice as a secondary.

Or use a pure type and give them a fuck ton of moves through TMs. Sarah, my Mightyena, is so fucking reliable, I don't think she'll ever leave my main team.

Not a bad idea! I wouldn't mind adding a dark type to my team at all. I might go with a dual type to give myself a better range. Where do you get TM's?
