[Okay, so, Jake accidentally hit a few buttons, so have fun watching what looks like John Egbert having a hard time with an overly affectionate Emolga. At least, it's only for a few seconds. It kind of cuts out to text when he falls down on the ground.]

I can safely say that the Pokemon here are almost always very calm and friendly, and there are only a few who need a period of calming down after evolving to return to their normal selves. [That's actually kind of confusing, Cheria. Biting her lip in thought, she shakes her head and starts over.]

Let me try that again. There is a Pokemon called a Magikarp, and it's a red fish that isn't very good at fighting. If one takes the time to raise it, it can eventually become a sea serpent.. but from evolving from a simple minded fish to a large, rather destructive creature, does something in its head that the Pokemon itself is highly aggravated until enough time has passed that it gets used to its new body.

It was an interesting conversation, to say the least! He said his name was Dave Strider.

Ah, just like the bipedal crabs! They can get rather cranky for no apparent reason, but it sounds something like them.

Bipedal crabs? That almost sounds silly until I think that they must be larger than what I initially thought.

Hey, would you like to have a second Pokemon? Mine just had a batch of eggs, and I'm still trying to find homes for them all. [Turning the feed, there's a few different colors in the little group.] I can tell you what most of them are!

Sure! I wouldn't mind that at all. What do you have?

I have a couple different kinds of cats, a couple different kinds of rabbits, a blue dinosaur, a pink.. marshmallow. It's kind of hard to describe what a Cleffa is. [Going to turn her dex on and show pictures of Meowth, Glameow, Totodile, Cleffa.] These are what is left.

The blue dinosaur sounds like my type of Pokemon. Should I meet you some place to pick it up?

This place made it very easy to trade or give Pokemon to others through use of the PCs at the Centers. When you reach Cherrygrove, you can use the one there and your egg will be delivered through it. It's strange, but I've seen it work before when I've received eggs, and they hatch fine.

Oh, good! How do I help the egg hatch? And how long does it usually take?

Keeping it warm and carrying it with you will do the trick, and I think it took Eridan's Totodile about a week to hatch. It's different for each species, but a good portion take only a week.

Excellent! Then I won't have to wait long to see the little rascal. Speaking of rascals, what are your Pokemon like, Cheria?

For the most part, they're fairly relaxed and sweet! I do have a Gyarados, but he has calmed down considerably since he first evolved... evolution for a Magikarp is a bit traumatic, I think.

I wonder why that is.

They start as these very docile fish, and when they evolve, they grow very large and change appearance completely. I can only guess that it does something in their mind, as most Gyarados dex entries describe their incredible anger with their fearsome power.

Oh, dear. You'd think it might be better to keep them as they are if it causes them so much distress.

I don't think most people think of that when they have a Magikarp. They only think about how it'll grow stronger, but not how it changes the Pokemon so much.. I almost wish I could have known before mine evolved. He's alright now, but it still hurt him so much.

Goodness...poor thing. Well, he's alright now, and that's the important part, right? I think he might understand that you wouldn't have let him go through the pain of it if you'd known.

[She has to nod quietly, sighing gently. After a moment, she has a thought and offers a small smile.] Would you like to meet him? His name is Mana.

Oh, sure! I'd love to meet Mana.

[Her smile grows a bit, before looking about. Since there's plenty of space where she is, Cheria leans down and hands the gear to one of her other Pokemon (probably the Audino, since there's a pink paw partially in the way), before moving back and back and back pretty far.

Here Jake, take a look at this Gyarados being let out.]

[The Pokemon is a big larger than the usual Gyarados, and it's only when Cheria's certain that he's alright with the big wide space does she move in to reclaim the gear and bring it closer for Mana to see.]

Mana, this is Jake! Say hello now.. [Really, the Pokemon looks a bit fearsome up close, but simply croos out a quiet sound from the giant mouth.]

Hello, Mana! It's nice to meet you.
