[Video/Action for Violet] 05th Page

[Sup, Johto! Jake looks extremely happy and pleased with himself. So does Stripes the Zebstrika, posing with his head held high.]

Well, I just got my first badge in Johto!

[Now he looks sheepish.]

Though, I don't think Gym Leader Falkner really appreciated how it all went. Eheh....

[Stripes snorts and looks like he could take on anybody. Someone got an ego boost after a successful gym battle.]

What's the second gym like, now that I'm thinking of it? I've only heard that the Goldenrod City gym has...some issues.

[PRIVATE TEXT TO DAVE STRIDER]

[Now, Jake's dumb, but he's not stupid. He thinks he can understand that after Bro left, Dave might be a wreck. He'd be the same way if Jade had left like that.]

Mr strider i have a query for you!
Are you up for a sparring match?
Im absolute shite with a sword or anything resembling a blade but im good at unarmed combat if thats anything!
ghostytrainer: (no i cannot smile doofishly.)

Congrats, man! [John beams, the Litwick on his shoulder giving a tiny, nubby clap and making a happy little squeak. Yay Grandpa! Grandpa got a badge!] Only seven more to go! Or...well fifteen, technically but one region at a time, haha!

The second gym depends on which city you go to next: Azalea or Goldenrod. Seems somebody already spoiled Whitney for you so I'll tell you about Bugsy. Probably easy to guess by his name, but he uses bug types. And if I am being honest...he's probably the easiest of the Johto gym leaders. At least in my opinion, then by the time I finally got to Azalea, I had a Pidgeot.
ghostytrainer: (whoops! my bad!)

Yeah the uh...temper tantrums are pretty standard. So is her trying to get a date out of you, just a heads up.

[HAVE FUN JAKE.]

But why do say that? Is Halley aggressive or something?

[Deepest sigh will come after the actual battle itself, yes?]

It's worth a shot, but if I were you I would take one of your girl friends as back up. Pretend the two of you are dating. It...sort of helps. [More like his girlfriend is just very...err...well she's Rose. That's really all that needs to be said here.]

Ah, gotcha. Yeaaahhhh I think I would like to have my limbs remained attached. Kind of fond of them right where they are.

Unless she's changed since the last time I was there...no. Rose had to actually say something to her in order for me to escape with the badge.

[Have fun, Jake.]

I am not really sure what to tell you about Halley though, I can't say that Growlithes are my area of expertise. And my only really protective Pokemon isn't really aggressive about it. Might be something to ask Jade though, dog Pokemon are more her thing than mine. Plus, Growlithe was her starter.
ghostytrainer: (well you see i made myself in a lab.)

Mmm. Though, on a more positive note, actually battling her isn't all that bad. Really, her Miltank is the only thing you have to watch out for. If you managed to get your hands on a fighting type already, focus on training that up before you take her on. That's the only weakness normal types have, unfortunately.
ghostytrainer: (Your name is JOHN.)

Yeah. That and rollout. Attract is easy enough to counter if you have a lot of girl pokemon. Rollout just gets really irritating and can take you out if you're not careful.
