You know, Cianwood is a pretty neat island all on its own, but....

[He frowns a bit as he looks around.]

It's not...what I expected. Then again, I come from a more tropical island, so perhaps this is normal? I'm used to a more rainforest kind of setting, and this...certainly isn't it.

[Jake shrugs.]

I mean, I'm not complaining about it or anything like that! Maybe it's for the best, though. I might have gotten homesick.

[How you get homesick for Murder Island is a mystery for the ages.]

I'm about to go up against the Gym Leader, too! [He takes out a Pokeball and opens it to release Robin Williams the Emolga from it.] I think Robin--

[All of a sudden, he hears a noise. Jake looks utterly confused because he's pretty sure that nobody in his party has a Pichu, and then, abruptly, the Pichu is chasing Robin all over him. He flails, loses his balance, and falls. The Gear falls with him to show that he's hit his head against a rock and he's out like a light.

...Jake? Are you alright?

[When Jake answers, he looks dazed. In the background, Susan the Gardevoir is using her psychic powers to keep ahold of the offending Pichu.]

Right as rain! This isn't the first time I've gone and conked myself on the noggin, haha....

[Jake, baby, this isn't the time to chuckle or anything like that.]

A mild concussion, maybe?

[As much as she hated/feared the ocean, she couldn't deprive Zoa from a source of water while she was in Cianwood. Why no, that could lead to disastrous results...or just leave the girl feeling guilty about depriving her pokemon of happiness.]

[Yumi was just looking through her pokegear when she heard the commotion happened and looked up in time just to see Jake hit his head against the rock. She knew from personal experience that was not going to have pretty results.]

Oh no.

[After she quickly recalled the Tentacool back into his ball, Yumi's just going to run over to check up on you, ok Jake?]

[No, he's fine, just out cold. Sorry, Yumi, this kid's out like a light.]

[Only moments later, Dirk comes running up himself, with his Zubat leading the way. He only hesitates a moment when he sees that someone's already there.]

Just saw his broadcast. D'you know if he's all right?

[ JAKE...

Guess who was at work when this went up, so this comes about an hour and a half late. Aradia's still in her work clothes, even, having just gotten off and checked in on the network. ]

Jake? Do I need to call Dirk - actually, why didn't I do that first...? [ Talking to herself. SURELY SOMEONE HAS SOLVED THIS BY NOW, but still. ]

Oh, no no, Dirk and a girl named Yumi were around. They got me up right as rain, other than the mild headache and a knot the size of Texas on the back of my head.

Aradia looks at least relieved that he's answering. People may not be able to die here (and death might be a part of life!) but it's still nice to see him okay. ]

Where did that Pichu come from? We don't have one, do we? And I think I know Yumi.

I have a Raichu, but I don't think we kept any of her eggs. Perhaps someone's missing a Pichu? I don't remember her last name, but she wears a lot of black.

[ NOW THEY KNOW. Schedule someone to be off work with Jake at all times! ]

Yumi Ishiyama? I think she's new. I mean, I know she is! Relatively so. I talked to her when she arrived - I don't know any other Yumi, anyway, and she seemed to wear a lot of black.

Hm. Is the Pichu still about?

Sounds familiar, so I bet we know the same Yumi. She's in Cianwood somewhere, I...kinda sorta lost track of where she and Dirk went.

[Lying down sounds like a good idea, so that's what he's gonna do. Lie down and talk to Aradia that way.]

Yup. Susan's got him. Iunno where Robin went.

[Excuse his slurring, Aradia.]

Oh, wow. I didn't realize we were in the same place!

[ Definitely sounds like this injury is going to stick. It's amazing how much experience you get with people getting hit upside the head when you flarp! And then, you know. Play sgrub. ]

[Yumi looked up to see Dirk running towards the two. She was ready to stand her guard until she heard the question. Looks like he's a friend instead.]

[She shook her head.] No, it looks like he's knocked out. He hit his head pretty badly on that rock.

[Dirk sighs, and leans to look at the rock.]

At least it isn't bleeding. Jesus, of course he would manage to hit the rock.

Should we get him to the Pokecenter?

[Dirk shrugs, then pokes at Jake's shoulder.]

Let's see if we can wake him up first.

[Yumi nervously glances at Jake and then back at Dirk.]

[And Dirk, of course, being the gentle, loving boyfriend that he is, starts his attempts by punching Jake in the shoulder.

[Dirk, seriously? That's not nearly enough to wake up this numbskull.]
