[Well, Jake is currently on the road to Viridian City Violet City. He's currently resting somewhere off the road, and he looks a mite hassled.]

I've got two questions I'd like to pose at the moment. My first question is how do you feed a possessed candle when the Pokedex says that it feeds off of the life force of humans and Pokemon? Really, I'm all for survival and taking good care of your Pokemon and all that, but I'm not about to kill myself for it.

My sec--YEOWCH!

[That's about when he flails a little, sighs in exasperation, and holds up his hand. Dangling from it is a Totodile, who looks quite content to be chomping down on Jake's hand.]

How in frig's flipping sake do you get Totodiles to not bite you every time they leave the Pokeball?!

[He should've gone for the cat. But no, he wanted the cool blue alligator baby.]

[Oh hey...a ghost related question. John totally has this. His own Litwick is sitting on his shoulder, peering at the screen.]

I let Chandel here feed off of wild pokemon. Or well...more like snack really. I watch her very carefully to make sure she doesn't actually completely drain anything or anybody. It helps though that ghosts don't seem to need to eat as often as other pokemon. At least mine don't. But yeah, always better to go for multiple food sources for ghosts. You'll find that most of them don't really eat "normal" food. As for the Totodile...

[Sigh.]

I would tell you if I knew, but I don't. My Umbreon likes to bite and I still haven't really gotten him to stop doing it completely.
tentacletrainer: (Well it's all very simple really.)

I'm not positive on what you could do for your Litwick. Ghosts are John's department. As for that Totodile, however, have you had a chance to gather any berries yet?

[[She digs out a few examples from her bag, holding them up to the camera.]]

If you can discern which berry your toothy friend dislikes, you could purchase a spray bottle in the next town, make a sort of liquidy mash by crushing the berries and adding water to the mixture, and spray your hands with the mixture. Every time he bites, he'll get a lovely mouthful of that, which he will of course hate. That should quickly wane his biting habits.

At least to you in any case.

[[Pokemother of the year at your service.]]

THEY LIKE TO BITE EVERYTHING THEY SEE !

SO MAYBE
IF YOUR TOTODILE CAN'T SEE YOU

IT WILL NOT KNOW WHERE TO BITE ?

Well now you do! There are also a number of items called apricorns you might find on your travels. Berries are better left fed to your Pokemon as they have some rather adverse affects on humans, and can range from healing to simply tasting good I've found. I only have a few on me, but typically if you find one berry plant, there's a good chance that plants nearby will also have a few ripe.

[[The examples she gives him are Oran, Persim and Cheri.]] I can't show you apricorns, but those are sort of...roundish items found on bushes similar to berries. I want to call them nuts? But I have no idea what they are. None of my Pokemon seem fond of eating them or even trying. But if you take these to a man in Azalea named Kurt, he's able to fashion them into different sorts of Pokeballs.

It might, but I believe that would depend on the Pokemon in question. John's Umbreon tends to bite him, and did so far more often when he was just an Eevee, but that may be more his opinion on his trainer than any terrible habit. At least, that's what I'm starting to think.

And please don't attempt to try the berries, even if they seem tempting. Some of them can be extremely dangerous to your health. Though, if you're trying to sleep and having troubles, a very small piece of a Chesto will likely help. Like...one that could fit in a spoon size. That's what I've been doing for a while now to combat my insomnia. There are other methods you could try first to help that if you do have troubles.

I'm not sure on costs for Kurt, though. He's...well. Picky about who he'll make Pokeballs for. He doesn't seem interested in assisting me, so I've never gotten to try. But if you want to approach him about it, I would bring at least a few thousand pokedollars just in case.

He seems to have a...sort of bittersweet type relationship. He likes him well enough, but I think it's some of his decisions at this point that he doesn't. In the beginning we really thought he just hated John.

As for naturally grown items, of course. The stores do sell fruits and vegetables, it's just a matter of knowing what you can and can't eat. I'm sure once you reach a town with a Pokemart you should find a guide, though I never looked for one myself. If you can't in the next one you enter, let me know though. I'll fly down to Goldenrod and pick one up for you there. If Goldenrod doesn't have, I will be completely flabbergasted.

For now though, a good idea is to stick with things you recognize, like apples or pears. You can also look into getting a fishing rod and fishing, or seeing if your Totodile can catch a few for you. Just make sure he's not catching Magikarp, Goldeen or Remoraid. You can't eat Pokemon. I'm not positive if you would want to, however. However, if you ever run out though and find yourself in desperate need, do not hesitate to call us. I have plenty of resources to spare and Pilcrow flies fast.

Please do, and no thanks are necessary Jake. Beyond being yet another captive of Johto and therefor in the same boat as everyone else, you're a friend. This is what friends are for.

[When it comes to ghost types, you will find that he is simply the best there is. That's right: suck it, Morty.]

Whenever they're hungry, of course! For Chandel, that's usually around a week or so. But she ate a lot more right after she hatched. She's about six months old now though so she kind of slowed down a bit.

Hooopefully it won't be, especially since its jaws are bound to get stronger. Some pokemon grow out of habits after the evolve, though. So maybe you'll get lucky with your Totodile.

[Cover yourself in hot sauce, Jake. Surely this will ward off the chomps.]

I hawe one a' those and really I think you just need to be strict with it an' make sure it knows if it attacks you it's bein' gotten rid of or dumbed in the ocean or something.

Else if it still does it when it's as big as mine you're goin' to hawe problems.

Maybe you should try tickling him!

I admit I do not possess any great experience with Ghost types, but my own Pokebeasts seem to have little trouble procuring their own sustenance in the wild. I would presume the same would hold true for the candle-spirit.

[He's not a fan of, say, people hunting animals, but animals hunting other animals? That's all fair game. Survival of the fittest and all that.]

As for the Totodile, it does not respect your STRONGNESS. You must prove yourself as its superior. ...Or it merely enjoys being insufferable. It appears to be a common trait among seadwellers.
